SM and Jobstreet Champion Filipino MSMEs at 2025 MSME Summit
Entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and key stakeholders gathered at the MSME Summit 2025 held at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia.
Hosted by Jobstreet by SEEK Philippines in partnership with SM Supermalls, the event highlighted the shared mission to empower Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises and drive sustainable growth for the nation’s economy.Ms. Dannah Majarocon, Managing Director of Jobstreet by SEEK Philippines, emphasized the summit’s focus on supporting MSMEs as essential contributors to the Philippine economy.
“SM is not just a venue, it is a partner in every MSME’s success story,” said Joaquin L. San Agustin, Executive Vice President for Marketing of SM Supermalls. “When MSMEs thrive, communities thrive. Each growing business represents a dream realized, a livelihood secured, and a stronger economy.”
SM’s own journey mirrors that of its MSME partners. From a single shoe store in Carriedo to 88 malls nationwide, SM recognizes the power of small beginnings. Nearly 70 percent of its tenants are MSMEs, making their success fundamental to SM’s continued growth. Through the SM for MSMEs program, the company provides high-foot-traffic spaces, market access, and visibility to help entrepreneurs expand sustainably.
The summit featured key sessions tailored to practical business needs. Mr. Henry Jose “Joey” Yusingco of Jobstreet shared strategies on scaling the first hire, while Ms. Arlynne Roa-Awayan of Asia Pacific College explored how small businesses can leverage AI. Experts from Lalamove PH, 2GO Travel, and DITO BizBayan offered insights on logistics and operations, and Ms. Life Dawn Cervero of TikTok provided guidance on smart marketing on a budget. Financial panels with BDO, Maya, RCBC, BanKo, and Asialink equipped MSMEs with essential finance hacks for sustainable growth.
The summit also highlighted inspiring success stories. Kay and Karl Santos of 1919 Chocolate shared their journey of scaling a Filipino business, motivating attendees with real-life examples of growth. Interactive activities such as the Partner Passport Challenge encouraged participants to engage directly with business tools, digital platforms, and services that support MSME expansion.
The MSME Summit 2025 reaffirmed SM Supermalls’ commitment to Filipino entrepreneurship, offering programs, spaces, and partnerships that enable MSMEs to innovate, grow, and thrive in today’s dynamic economy.
