Disney Plus Unveils Its Biggest Entertainment Lineup Yet as Asia Pacific Showcases a Powerhouse 2026 Slate
The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific pulled back the curtain on its massive 2026 global general entertainment lineup during the Disney Plus Originals Preview held on November 13 at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.
The event drew major stars and creators from across the U.S., Korea, and Japan, spotlighting Disney’s accelerating creative momentum and its commitment to bold storytelling for global audiences.One of the most anticipated appearances came from Hiroyuki Sanada, star and executive producer of Shōgun. Joined by co-creators Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks, Sanada reflected on the series’ groundbreaking first season, which made history with 18 Emmy wins, and shared early insights as Season 2 heads into production.
Eric Schrier, President of Disney Television Studios & Global Original Television Strategy, emphasized Disney’s unique creative ecosystem and growing connection with viewers worldwide. “For Disney Plus, we create and curate powerful, authentic, local stories that stand proudly alongside our global franchises,” he said. “Disney’s legacy in Asia continues to grow through creativity, collaboration, and our shared belief in the power of great storytelling.”
This year’s preview offered fans a first look at fresh seasons of beloved series including Paradise Season 2, Percy Jackson and The Olympians Season 2, and FX’s The Bear Season 5 alongside major new titles such as Chris Hemsworth: A Road Trip to Remember, A Very Jonas Christmas Movie, and Pole to Pole with Will Smith. The event also confirmed that Alien: Earth will return for a second season.
In addition, attendees were treated to updates on high-profile projects such as The Testaments, inspired by Margaret Atwood’s award-winning novel, and Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, a vibrant new chapter in the fan-favorite franchise that introduces the mischievous Chessy the Cheshire Cat. Fans also got a glimpse of Season 2 of the Australian Original The Artful Dodger, continuing the daring adventures set in Port Victory.
Disney executives reiterated the growing importance of Asia Pacific content, unveiling new titles from Korea and Japan designed to complement the global slate.
