Jobstreet by SEEK Powers MSME Growth with New Summit for Entrepreneurs

Jobstreet by SEEK is strengthening its support for Filipino entrepreneurs as it puts the spotlight on one of the country’s most critical business sectors, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

These enterprises make up 99.5% of all registered businesses in the Philippines and generate six out of every ten jobs nationwide, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority.

Despite their strong economic contributions, many MSMEs continue to face hurdles that slow their growth. One of the most pressing challenges: the talent shortage. A 2024 survey by the Boston Consulting Group and the Department of Trade and Industry revealed that while 72% of MSMEs want to expand their workforce and 82% aim to upskill employees, nearly half (46%) are grappling with a talent crisis, demand is high, but qualified applicants are difficult to find.

Empowering Entrepreneurs Through the MSME Summit

Committed to supporting both jobseekers and business owners, Jobstreet by SEEK launched its MSME Summit, a learning and networking initiative designed to help entrepreneurs thrive in a competitive landscape.

In partnership with SM for MSMEs, the summit at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall gathered MSME owners, experts, and industry leaders for discussions on business challenges, growth strategies, and safer hiring practices. Attendees gained practical knowledge from workshops focused on marketing, logistics, digital tools, and finance, equipping them with actionable insights to strengthen operations.

“Jobstreet by SEEK believes that every thriving economy is built on the shoulders of resilient and growing MSMEs,” said Dannah Majarocon, Jobstreet by SEEK’s Managing Director in the Philippines. “By supporting entrepreneurs through initiatives like the MSME Summit, we help them connect with the right talent, fuel job creation, and uplift the local employment landscape.”

Helping MSMEs Recruit Safely and Efficiently

With hiring scams becoming more prevalent on social media, Jobstreet by SEEK encourages entrepreneurs to use legitimate hiring platforms to protect their business and attract qualified jobseekers.

Through its SMEasy sa Jobstreet initiative, MSME owners can now post job ads for free on the platform. This easy-to-use feature gives businesses access to nearly 14 million candidates nationwide, helping them find the right fit while minimizing recruitment risks.
