The wait is officially over for K-drama fans. After months of speculation and rising excitement, Disney Plus has confirmed that Perfect Crown, the highly talked-about Korean romantic comedy starring IU and Byeon Wooseok, will premiere in 2026.

Announced during the Disney Plus Originals Preview at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, Perfect Crown unfolds in a reimagined modern Korea ruled under a constitutional monarchy. At the heart of the story is the beloved Grand Prince Wan, whose popularity only complicates the growing power struggle within the royal family. Pushed toward marriage for political stability, the prince enters a strategic union with Heeju, an heiress set to inherit one of Korea’s most influential conglomerates. What begins as a calculated partnership quickly turns unpredictable, leading to emotional twists neither of them planned for.

Originally titled Wife of a 21st Century Grand Prince, the series stars IU (When Life Gives You Tangerines, My Mister) as Heeju, and Byeon Wooseok (Lovely Runner, Strong Girl Nam-soon) as Grand Prince Wan. The show is helmed by director Park Joonhwa (Alchemy of Souls, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim) with a script by Yu Ain.
