A taste of North Luzon with Pilmico's Mahaling Pagkaing Atin at Mercato Centrale

I have had the privilege of living up North in early 2012. I got accustomed not only with the local people people but more importantly , me and the kids got acquainted with their local delicacies and specialties.
I love living there actually, minus the constant blackout, of course. We generally love eating breakfast in a sunny yet cool spot, having the special days regularly with the husband and kids, watching the kids play sport, planning a getaway and swimming to try and maintain some level of activity. While I am removed from direct contact with blogging events back home, I met new friends and discovered extraordinary things, which I considered a blessing.
I had the privilege for a session with Metro Manila's savviest foodies, TV personality and Mercato Centrale co-founder RJ Ledesma and enjoy again delicacies from North Luzon at Mercato Centrale hosted by Pilmico a few weeks ago.
We were given vouchers to shop all we want! Chef Boy Logro was also there to share recipes cooked the Boy Logro way.

Mahalin Pagkaing Atin is the flagship corporate social responsibility initiative. Pilmico has been going around the country spreading the advocacy. Mahalin Pagkaing Atin aims to promote the love of local food, as they create sustainable livelihood opportunities for the backyard farmers. These backyard farmers have a very important role in nation building because they help the nation in food security. Apart from promoting local food, they also help instill deeper sense of pride in place and product.
The concept of Mercato Centrale first started from the love of food. RJ Ledesma shared how they were brought to food markets by friends from abroad whenever he visited different countries. He thought that there's still no place where we can go and enjoy local food here in the Philippines. That's the reason they put up Mercato Centrale. They are in full support for Pilmico's Mahalin Pagkaing Atin for their campaign and event because at Mercato Centrale , they are all food entrepreneurs. More importantly they want to support Filipino food. As they say, FIlipino is the next best thing around the world.

Mahalin Pagkaing Atin is hitting the road once more to share this advocacy to more kababayans. Do your part to help the local food industry by encouraging and promoting backyard farming,
