PLDT Stars Kath Arado and Savi Davison Lead High Speed Hitters’ Charge for PVL Season 10

After claiming bronze in the 2026 PVL Invitational Conference, PLDT’s defensive leader Kath Arado and scoring standout Savi Davison are ready to turn hard earned lessons into a stronger campaign.

The PLDT High Speed Hitters have every reason to celebrate their bronze medal finish in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference 2026. But for a team determined to compete at the highest level, a podium finish is not the final destination. It is another step toward something bigger.

With the league’s milestone 10th season on the horizon, PLDT is already shifting its focus to the next challenge. Leading that charge are two of the team’s biggest stars: team captain and defensive specialist Kath Arado and powerful outside hitter Savi Davison.

Together, the award winning duo brings a formidable combination of defensive brilliance and offensive firepower. With 12 individual PVL awards between them, Arado and Davison have become essential to PLDT’s identity, helping the team turn crucial defensive stops into scoring opportunities and keep opponents under pressure.

Arado’s exceptional floor coverage and back row defense give the High Speed Hitters the chance to extend rallies and recover from difficult situations. At the other end of the play, Davison delivers the attacking power that can change a match in an instant.

Their partnership reflects what PLDT has continued to build: a team that can compete with the league’s best through individual talent, collective discipline and an unwavering belief in one another.

Savi Davison Sets Her Sights on a Stronger PVL Campaign

For Davison, the road to the next conference begins with a familiar goal: getting better every day.

The last conference’s Best Outside Spiker acknowledged that while PLDT fell short of its ultimate goal, the experience provided valuable lessons that the team can carry into its next campaign.

“The mindset of every off season is to be better than before,” Davison said. “We fell short in the Invitational Conference, but we are heading into the new conference with some momentum. Hopefully we will be able to take the lessons learned and apply them during the off season to propel us forward.”

That momentum came from more than the team’s bronze medal finish. It also came from how the High Speed Hitters responded when the pressure mounted.

After suffering losses midway through the conference, PLDT found a way to regroup, rebuild its confidence and finish on a high note. For Davison, that response was one of the most encouraging takeaways from the tournament.

“I am happy that we were able to close out the PVL Invitational Conference on a high note with a win,” she said.

“Although the goal was to be placed in the finals, I believe that we were challenged and were able to grow in ways that were needed. I am proud of us for being able to respond accordingly in such a short period of time following mid season losses. That’s what I am most happy about.”

Rather than dwell on what could have been, Davison is looking at the experience as motivation to raise her game and help PLDT take another step forward.

Kath Arado Finds Strength in PLDT’s Bronze Medal Comeback

For Arado, the bronze medal meant far more than a place on the podium. It represented a team that refused to let setbacks define its season.

As PLDT’s captain and the conference’s Best Libero, Arado played a vital role in keeping the team organized and resilient during difficult stretches. The High Speed Hitters’ finish was especially meaningful after the challenges they faced in the middle of the tournament.

“Honestly, our Invitational Conference finish feels really fulfilling and emotional,” Arado recalled.

“After the losses we experienced in the middle of the season, winning the bronze medal showed us that we were able to bounce back, stay together, and keep fighting.”

Although the team had hoped to reach the finals, Arado believes the lessons gained along the way will help prepare PLDT for the challenges ahead.

“It may not have been the result we initially wanted, but I’m really grateful for the lessons, the experience, and the opportunity to finish the conference on the podium,” she said.

“For us, the mindset is to use the previous season as motivation to keep improving.”

That determination is central to PLDT’s preparations for the new season. With another opportunity to compete for a championship ahead, the team is carrying both the confidence of a podium finish and the hunger to achieve more.

Back to Back Wins Against Creamline Show PLDT’s Fighting Spirit

One of the defining moments of PLDT’s bronze medal campaign came in its back to back victories over powerhouse Creamline.

Against one of the PVL’s most formidable teams, the High Speed Hitters had little room for complacency. Every rally demanded concentration, every defensive stop mattered, and every scoring opportunity had to be earned.

Davison recalled how the team remained focused throughout both matches, knowing that Creamline had the ability to turn the momentum around at any moment.

“Any match against Creamline is highly competitive. At no point during those two matches did we think we had the win secured. We had to push to the very end, considering that they are capable of turning matches around if given the opportunity,” Davison said.

“From the very first point of the first match to the very last of the bronze match, we had to stay consistent and confident in our abilities.”

For Arado, the turning point was not simply a tactical adjustment or a standout individual performance. It was the team's realization that, despite everything it had endured that season, its players were still standing together.

“I think the turning point was when we realized that we had already been through so much this season, but we were still standing and fighting together,” she said.

“In those last two games, every point felt so important, and we just refused to give up on each other. When we were able to fight back, especially in the crucial moments, I felt that this was our chance to finish strong. We believed in each other, trusted the process, and fought for every ball.”

Those hard fought victories offered a glimpse of what PLDT can accomplish when its players combine their individual strengths with trust, composure and a shared determination to win.

Teamwork and Support Remain at the Heart of PLDT’s Success

While Arado and Davison continue to lead the High Speed Hitters on the court, both players recognize that sustained success requires contributions from the entire organization.

From the coaching staff and players to the people working behind the scenes, every member of the PLDT team has a role in preparing the squad for the demands of another PVL campaign.

For Davison, the key is making sure everyone shares the same commitment and is ready to compete.

“The key is to have everyone on the same page and prepared to compete, from coaching staff to all the players,” she said.

The team's supporters also remain an important source of motivation. Through victories, setbacks and demanding stretches of competition, their encouragement has helped fuel PLDT's determination to keep pushing forward.

“The fans have been the core of PLDT,” Davison added. “They inspire us to work when not being watched and to play to our best abilities when given the opportunity to play in front of them. They inspire us to be better every day, supporting us through the highs and lows.”

Arado shared her appreciation for the fans who stood by the High Speed Hitters throughout the season, emphasizing that their bronze medal achievement was also a tribute to the people who continued to believe in the team.

“To all our fans and supporters, thank you so much for staying with us throughout the season, through the wins, the losses, and all the challenges we faced. Your support, love, and encouragement meant so much to us and gave us extra strength to keep fighting,” Arado said.

“Our bronze medal last conference was also for you. We’re taking all the lessons from the last season and using them as motivation to come back stronger.”

The bronze medal has given the High Speed Hitters something to be proud of, but their ambitions extend beyond the podium. With a proven defensive anchor, an explosive offensive leader and a roster determined to improve, PLDT has a foundation to build on as it pursues its next milestone.
