Jollibee Group Tops Sustainability Rankings in the Philippines Again With Stronger Green Initiatives
Sustainability is becoming a major factor in how consumers view the brands they support, and Jollibee Group continues to set the benchmark in the Philippines.
For the second straight year, Jollibee Group has secured the No. 1 spot among Philippine companies in the Brand Finance Sustainability Perceptions Index, reaffirming its leadership in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.
The latest recognition from the Brand Finance Philippines 50 2026 Report highlights the company's growing reputation for responsible business practices and its long-term commitment to creating meaningful impact for people, communities, and the environment.
Jollibee Group Recognized as the Philippines' Leading Sustainable Brand
Brand Finance, one of the world's leading independent brand valuation consultancies, evaluated thousands of companies globally and found that Jollibee Group earned the highest sustainability perception among Philippine companies across all three ESG pillars:
- Environmental responsibility
- Social impact
- Good governance
The ranking reflects the company's continued efforts under its Joy for Tomorrow sustainability agenda, which focuses on creating measurable progress while strengthening business resilience and operational excellence.
"We are honored to receive this distinction as it recognizes the incredible sustainability efforts our employees and partners make to carry on our Joy For Tomorrow agenda. We remain steadfast in our commitment in every step we take, knowing that we are borrowing the resources we use today from future generations," said Pepot Miñana, Jollibee Group Global Chief Integration, Sustainability, and Corporate Affairs Officer.
What the Brand Finance Sustainability Perceptions Index Measures
Unlike rankings that only evaluate environmental programs, the Brand Finance Sustainability Perceptions Index measures how sustainability contributes to a company's overall brand value.
The assessment combines several factors, including:
- Overall brand value
- Importance of sustainability in customer purchasing decisions
- Public perception of a company's environmental, social, and governance performance
For 2026, Jollibee Group emerged as the highest-ranked Philippine company across all ESG categories, reinforcing the trust it has earned from consumers and stakeholders alike.
Renewable Energy Drives Major Environmental Progress
One of Jollibee Group's biggest sustainability achievements has been its significant shift toward renewable energy.
From late 2025 through early 2026, 99% of the electricity used across its covered Philippine commissaries transitioned to renewable energy, including geothermal power. This move is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 70%, representing one of the company's most impactful environmental milestones to date.
The company's Canlubang, Laguna commissary also features approximately 16,500 solar panels, helping support cleaner and more sustainable operations.
Historic Milestones in Green Building
Jollibee Group has also reached several industry-first achievements that demonstrate its commitment to sustainable infrastructure.
Among its recent accomplishments is the opening of the Philippines' first LEED-certified quick-service restaurant, setting a new benchmark for environmentally responsible restaurant design.
Meanwhile, the company's newly inaugurated Danao Commissary in Cebu earned LEED Gold Certification, making it the country's first certified manufacturing facility of its kind.
The facility incorporates more than 30 sustainability initiatives, including:
- Energy-efficient systems
- Water conservation technologies
- Renewable energy integration
- Responsible construction waste management
These proven sustainability practices were adapted from the company's Luzon commissaries and expanded into its Visayas and Mindanao operations.
Joy for Tomorrow Continues to Shape a More Sustainable Future
Jollibee Group's sustainability journey extends beyond environmental programs.
Through its Joy for Tomorrow agenda, the company continues to invest in initiatives that support:
- Food safety and quality
- Employee welfare and development
- Community partnerships
- Ethical governance
- Environmental stewardship
These efforts are designed to address today's environmental and social challenges while creating long-term value for customers, employees, business partners, shareholders, and future generations.
As sustainability continues to influence consumer trust and corporate reputation, Jollibee Group's back-to-back recognition from Brand Finance underscores how consistent action, measurable progress, and responsible business practices can strengthen both business performance and positive social impact.
