Play Meets Style at Home as IKEA Launches GREJSIMOJS Collection in the Philippines

Keeping your home tidy while raising playful, curious kids can feel like a daily balancing act.

Toys spark imagination, but they can also take over your living space. Now, IKEA introduces a stylish solution for Filipino families with the arrival of the GREJSIMOJS collection in the Philippines.

Designed to blend seamlessly into modern homes, the GREJSIMOJS collection reimagines toys as part of your interior design. Think soft, sculptural shapes and neutral tones that look just as beautiful in your living room as they do in your child’s play corner. These are pieces you won’t feel the need to hide away when guests arrive.

Why Play Matters More Than Ever

According to IKEA’s 2024 Play Report, play is far more than a way to pass the time. It helps children build trust, self-confidence, empathy, creativity, and imagination, essential foundations for lifelong well-being.

The global study surveyed 7,000 children and parents across seven countries and included in-depth home visits with 36 families. One key finding stands out: in a world where children are increasingly exposed to adult worries and stress, play serves as a powerful antidote.

For IKEA, this belief shapes every design decision. The brand continues to champion a playful everyday life where children are free to be curious, expressive, and fully themselves.

A Collection Rooted in Research and Creativity

GREJSIMOJS was created with both research and imagination at its core. More than 20 designers initially contributed ideas, with 12 shaping the final collection. They were encouraged to revisit their own childhood memories and view each piece through two lenses: how it fits beautifully into an adult’s home and how it transforms into a world of adventure for a child.

A statement rug, for example, can double as a wild landscape for crawling explorers. A sculptural chair becomes both a design accent and a playful perch. Every item is intentionally open-ended, inviting children to create their own stories.

A Smart Alternative to Screen Time

In the Philippines, concerns around excessive screen time continue to grow. A 2024 study ranked Filipinos among the highest globally for daily screen use, averaging nearly nine hours across devices. Among children, especially preschoolers, excessive screen exposure has been linked to developmental and sleep issues.

The GREJSIMOJS collection offers parents a refreshing alternative, one that encourages hands-on, imaginative play without adding clutter to the home.

Ricardo Pinheiro, Country Retail Manager of IKEA Philippines, shares that the collection celebrates the joy and importance of play for the entire family. These thoughtfully designed pieces invite children to play freely while complementing the overall look of the home. Instead of packing toys away, families can embrace play as part of daily living.

The collection features a curated range of playful yet design-forward pieces, including:
