Top In Demand Jobs Employers Are Actively Hiring for in 2026
As 2026 begins, many professionals are reassessing their career goals and exploring where the strongest opportunities lie.
To help jobseekers stay informed, Jobstreet by SEEK has released its latest In Demand Jobs Wrapped, offering a clear snapshot of the roles that dominated employer hiring activity over the past year.Once again, Administration and Office Support leads the hiring landscape, accounting for 28.6 percent of all job postings on the platform. This highlights the continued need for reliable administrative talent as companies strengthen daily operations and business support functions.
Engineering roles followed as the second most sought after positions, representing 10.2 percent of job listings. The demand for Education and Training professionals also remained strong at 9.2 percent, reflecting the ongoing importance of skills development and learning. Close behind were Call Center and Customer Service roles at 9.1 percent, while Information and Communication Technology jobs made up 6.6 percent of employer searches.
Other sectors maintained steady hiring momentum throughout 2025. These include Accounting at 5.8 percent, Sales at 5.0 percent, Manufacturing, Transport, and Logistics at 4.7 percent, Retail and Consumer Products at 2.7 percent, and Marketing and Communications at 2.6 percent. Jobstreet by SEEK expects many of these roles to remain in demand throughout 2026.
On the jobseeker side, Call Center and Customer Service professionals remain the most active applicants on the platform, accounting for 12.3 percent of candidates. They are followed by jobseekers from Hospitality and Tourism at 9.8 percent, Manufacturing, Transport, and Logistics at 8 percent, Information and Communication Technology at 7.5 percent, and Engineering at 6.5 percent.
