Jollibee Group Expands Jobs for Senior Citizens and Persons with Disabilities in Baguio City

10:15 PM

The Jollibee Group is opening new doors for inclusive employment, bringing meaningful job opportunities to senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) through its partnership with the Baguio City government.

This initiative reinforces the company’s commitment to creating workplaces that value diversity, dignity, and community impact.

On March 5, 2026, Jollibee Group Philippines formalized the partnership with Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The program enables qualified senior citizens and PWDs to work across 12 participating stores, including Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, and Burger King. Roles include Customer Relations Staff positions, where employees assist with order presentation, drink service, table management, and guest relations.

Strengthening Communities Through Local Partnerships

Since launching in 2019, the Jollibee Group’s inclusive employment program has provided over 1,000 senior citizens and PWDs with meaningful work nationwide. Despite a temporary pause during the pandemic, the initiative resumed in 2023 and has continued to grow. In 2025 alone, 451 individuals were hired under the program, highlighting the positive impact of collaboration with local governments.

The program has successfully partnered with cities like Manila, Quezon City, Pasig, Pasay, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Antipolo, Cagayan de Oro, Cabuyao, Davao, and municipalities in Rizal, demonstrating a nationwide effort to strengthen communities while expanding employment opportunities.

Fostering Inclusion and Purpose

The initiative aligns with the Jollibee Group’s Joy for Tomorrow sustainability agenda, particularly its People Pillar, which focuses on building inclusive and diverse workplaces. Joseph Tanbuntiong, CEO of Jollibee Group Philippines and Global Head of the Jollibee Brand, emphasized:

“Business growth is most meaningful when it is inclusive. By offering employment to senior citizens and persons with disabilities, we strengthen our teams and help communities remain engaged and active.”

Ruth Angeles, Chief Human Resources Officer of Jollibee Group Philippines and Head of HR for Jollibee Brand International, added:

“Inclusion means creating opportunities for people to work with dignity, independence, and purpose. Our partnerships with local governments allow seniors and PWDs to bring their experience, dedication, and warmth to our stores, benefiting both customers and teams.”

Building Impact Nationwide

The success of the program is evident in the more than 1,000 senior citizens and PWDs hired to date. By expanding to cities like Baguio, the Jollibee Group demonstrates how inclusive employment initiatives can strengthen communities, foster diversity, and create meaningful social impact.

In recognition of the partnership, Mayor Magalong presented Ruth Angeles with the Key to the City, celebrating the company’s commitment to advancing employment opportunities for senior citizens and persons with disabilities in Baguio.

The Jollibee Group’s initiative proves that inclusive employment is more than a program, it is a pathway to building stronger communities and workplaces where everyone can contribute, thrive, and be valued.
