The 8 Hour Movement Uratex and Our Home Champion Better Sleep for Filipinos

1:09 PM

Did you know that falling asleep instantly may actually be a sign of sleep deprivation?

As conversations about wellness continue to grow, more Filipinos are realizing that quality sleep is about more than simply spending enough hours in bed. The environment surrounding sleep plays a crucial role in how well the body rests and recovers. From bedroom design and mattress technology to nightly routines, the spaces we create can significantly influence how refreshed we feel the next day.

Recognizing the powerful connection between sleep and home design, Uratex, the Philippines’ leading mattress brand, partnered with OUR HOME to bring a new sleep advocacy to life through an immersive lifestyle event in celebration of World Sleep Day.

On March 13, 2026, guests gathered at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall for the launch of The 8 Hour Movement: A Wake Up Call for Better Sleep. The venue was transformed into the Uratex Country Club, a thoughtfully curated space highlighting how sleep habits, bedroom design, and mattress innovation can work together to support healthier rest.

Inside the Uratex Country Club

Rather than a traditional product showcase, the Uratex Country Club invited guests to see sleep through a lifestyle lens.

The installation featured beautifully styled bedroom displays combining OUR HOME furniture with Uratex mattresses and linens. Each room vignette demonstrated how thoughtful bedroom styling, proper lighting, and carefully selected furniture pieces can create a relaxing environment that promotes deeper, more restorative sleep.

“Sleep is often discussed in terms of hours, but the environment surrounding the bed is just as important,” shared Christian Cheng, Uratex Category Manager.

“Through the 8 Hour Movement, we want people to understand how the right combination of habits, comfort, and mattress support can truly improve sleep quality.”

For OUR HOME, the collaboration reflects the brand’s mission to help Filipinos design living spaces that support everyday comfort and well being.

“Bedrooms should feel like sanctuaries,” said Glowie Robillo, Senior Assistant Vice President for Marketing of OUR HOME.

“When design, comfort, and the right mattress come together, the bedroom becomes a place where people can fully recharge.”

Where Mattress Innovation Meets Lifestyle Design

At the heart of the installation were curated bedroom suites showcasing several of Uratex’s latest mattress innovations. Each design addresses different sleep preferences while providing the support needed for restorative rest.

The Premium Touch Viscoluxe offers contouring comfort and pressure relief through advanced memory foam technology. For sleepers who prefer firmer support, the Orthocare Balance helps maintain proper spinal alignment while promoting restorative sleep.

The lineup also includes the Serenibed, which provides medium firm support enhanced with Sanitized® protection to help create a cleaner and healthier sleep environment. Meanwhile, the Senso Frost incorporates adaptive memory foam designed to deliver cooling comfort throughout the night.

For those who prefer responsive yet breathable materials, the Premium Touch Cozy Latex combines firm latex support with airflow friendly construction that helps maintain a cool sleep surface.

Two hybrid designs also stood out during the showcase. The Trill Hybrid blends memory foam comfort with the responsive support of a pocket spring system, while the Trill Seave highlights a more sustainable approach to mattress design using materials made from upcycled ocean plastics.

Sleep Advice From the Experts

The launch program was hosted by Luane Dy and featured valuable insights from Dr. Jimmy Chang of the Philippine Society of Sleep Medicine. During the talk, he shared practical tips on improving sleep hygiene and building healthier nighttime routines.

Celebrity personalities and lifestyle influencers also joined the conversation, including Leon Barretto, Janeena Chan, Sofia Pablo, and Sam Concepcion. Each shared personal insights on how they prioritize their eight hours of sleep despite demanding schedules.

The event concluded with a symbolic pledge supporting the 8 Hour Movement, reinforcing the message that better days begin with better nights.

A Growing Movement for Healthier Sleep

For Uratex, the initiative represents decades of commitment to helping Filipinos achieve better sleep.

As guests explored the Uratex Country Club and saw how thoughtful bedroom design, comfort, and mattress innovation can transform sleep quality, the message became clear: a healthier, more productive day starts with the best eight hours of the night.

In celebration of World Sleep Month, Uratex mattresses are available at up to 50 percent off exclusively at OUR HOME until March 31.
