Acer Remains the Undisputed PC Market Leader in the Philippines, Driven by Strong Local Partnerships

Acer emerged as the top-performing brand in the Philippine personal computer market during the first quarter of 2025.

According to data from market research firm GfK, Acer captured 35.7% of the total market share, 34.2% in the consumer notebook segment, and an impressive 40.6% in gaming laptops. The company’s strong momentum continued into April, with notebooks reaching a 36% market share, solidifying its leading position.


Acer’s market dominance is the result of a strategic and localized marketing approach. One of its most impactful strategies has been forming partnerships with influential brand ambassadors, helping the brand strengthen its visibility and connection across the country.


A standout example of this approach is Acer’s collaboration with SB19, widely known as the “Kings of P-pop.” This partnership has played a major role in helping Acer stay relevant, particularly among younger Filipino consumers. The relationship between Acer and SB19 began even before their official roles as ambassadors for Acer Day and endorsers of Acer and Acerpure in 2021.


“Our partnership with SB19 works because we share the same values and energy. Also, the group’s strong social media presence and its ability to create engaging content have allowed us to reach and connect with our customers,” said Sue Ong-Lim, Managing Director at Acer Philippines.


In a recent milestone, Acer co-presented SB19’s “Simula at Wakas” world tour stop in Taiwan. As part of the visit, SB19 toured Acer’s Taipei headquarters and participated as “one-day employees,” gaining hands-on experience with the brand’s latest technologies.


During their visit, Acer Chairman and CEO Jason Chen, together with Pan-Asia Pacific President Andrew Hou, personally welcomed the group and presented each member with a Predator Helios 18 gaming laptop. SB19 also explored Acer’s product experience center, tested the newest gaming devices, and tried out innovations such as the FreeSense Ring smart wearable from Acer Fashion.


The group joined a design workshop, contributing creative ideas for laptop aesthetics and compact home appliances, further showcasing the collaborative spirit of the partnership.


Now in its fifth year, the collaboration between Acer and SB19 continues to evolve, with both parties expressing enthusiasm for future projects.
