Ortigas Art Festival 2025: Celebrating Inclusive, Borderless Art at GH Mall

7:19 PM

Now in its eighth year, the Ortigas Art Festival has evolved from a local exhibit into a nationally acclaimed cultural event.

Recognized by the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards and the International Business Awards, it’s become known not only for showcasing Filipino creativity but also for making art genuinely accessible to the public.

This 2025, the festival returns with a fresh venue, a bold theme, and an even deeper commitment to its mission. From July 10 to 24, 2025, GH Mall becomes home to the Ortigas Art Festival under the unifying theme: "Art for All: A Celebration of Borderless Artistic Expression."

A Festival That Breaks Barriers

"Art for All" isn’t just a theme, it’s a movement. The festival champions the idea that art isn’t reserved for galleries or collectors. It belongs in everyday spaces, open to all people. By offering free exhibits, public workshops, film screenings, artist talks, and live performances, the event invites everyone, from seasoned art lovers to first-time viewers, to engage with creativity in its many forms.

According to Renato Habulan, artist and festival head curator, the goal is simple but powerful: “Our mission has always been to bring art closer to people and people closer to art. We believe that by making art more accessible, we’re helping artists grow, helping communities connect, and creating meaningful cultural experiences for everyone.”

Art in Every Corner of GH Mall

The 2025 festival expands across several locations inside GH Mall, turning the mall into a sprawling canvas of artistic expression:

  • East Wing Atrium
  • South Wing Atrium
  • 4th Floor Tech Hub
  • Promenade Cinema

Each space hosts its own unique blend of art, from visual displays and photography to fashion and film.

Showcasing Filipino Talent and Cultural Diversity

The heart of the festival is its artist lineup, featuring both emerging voices and celebrated names. Among them are:

  • Totong Francisco, grandson of National Artist Carlos Francisco
  • Raul Roco Jr., son of the late Senator Raul Roco
  • Fashion designer Chynna Mamawal
  • Photography collectives Born in Film and Redlab

The East Wing Atrium showcases works from regional and community-based groups like the Angono Artists, Linangan Art Residency, Shine Vitto Galerie (Mindoro), Ortigas Foundation, and many others representing the vibrant range of Filipino identities.

Meanwhile, the South Wing Atrium features dynamic galleries including Art Circle, Art Point, Jean & Jaz Gallerie, Nami Art, and more, offering everything from painting and mixed media to analog photography.

Engage, Learn, and Create

Beyond viewing, the festival encourages hands-on participation. The 4F Tech Hub hosts workshops, artist talks, and creative forums. Highlights include:

  • Watercolor Pop-Up Art Fair by the Philippine Guild of Watercolorists
  • Art Talk by Linangan’s Manny Garibay
  • Workshops by Pasig Art Club and Born in Film

These interactive events aim to turn passive viewers into engaged participants—whether you’re learning a new technique or hearing directly from the artists themselves.

Art Beyond the Canvas

The festival expands its scope beyond traditional art with film, fashion, dance, and music. Starting July 11, the Promenade Cinema will screen acclaimed Filipino films in partnership with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP):

  • Babae at Baril – July 11
  • John Denver Trending – July 12
  • Thy Womb – July 18
  • (All screenings are free and held at Cinema 4 of The Promenade at 7 PM.)

The celebration continues with performances from The Learning Tree, Halili School of Dance, and UPeepz, highlighting how movement and rhythm are also forms of artistic storytelling.

On the fashion side, Chynna Mamawal’s pieces merge concept with couture, offering a fresh look at wearable art.

Free and Open to the Public

Ortigas Art Festival 2025 kicks off with an opening program on July 10 at the East Wing Atrium and runs daily during mall hours until July 24. All exhibits, performances, and screenings are free of charge. For workshops, early registration is recommended to reserve a slot.

Whether you’re an artist, a curious visitor, or someone simply looking for a creative escape, the Ortigas Art Festival is your invitation to be part of a growing community that believes art should be shared—not gatekept.
