Mark your calendars for October 17, as these powerhouse kitchens present “The Code of Umami,” a six-course tasting dinner hosted at Finestra for one night only.
This extraordinary collaboration brings together Chef Joel Manchia of Finestra and Chef Cristian Asato of Yakumi, two world-class chefs known for redefining fine dining in Quezon City. The evening promises a masterfully curated menu that explores harmony and contrast through the rich flavors of Italy and Japan, crafted with both tradition and innovation.
Limited seats are available, with the menu priced at PHP 4,988++ per person, and an optional wine and sake pairing at PHP 1,888++. This is not a recurring feature, it’s a one-time culinary showcase designed for those who seek rare, elevated dining moments.
Meet the Chefs Behind the Menu
Chef Joel Manchia, the Chef de Cuisine of Finestra, brings over 20 years of international experience to the table. Having led acclaimed kitchens at Four Seasons properties across the globe, from London to Beijing, and The Ivy Asia in Brighton, Chef Joel is known for his warm yet refined approach to Italian cuisine. At Finestra, he blends global technique with heartfelt flavors in every dish.
Chef Cristian Asato, the Chef de Cuisine of Yakumi, is a master of Nikkei cuisine, rooted in his Japanese-Peruvian heritage. His culinary journey spans Tokyo, Lima, Hong Kong, Switzerland, and the Maldives, with leadership roles at luxury resorts like Mandarin Oriental and Soneva. At Yakumi, Chef Cristian combines traditional Japanese techniques with modern flair, offering soulful plates with a story.
