Disney Plus and Hulu Turn Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza Into Worldwide Live Music Events
Music fans around the globe are about to get a front row seat to some of the biggest festivals of the year as Disney+ and Hulu officially expand their live music streaming lineup with Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival and Lollapalooza.
For the first time, both festivals will livestream across Disney+ and Hulu, allowing subscribers worldwide to tune in live, catch unforgettable performances, exclusive festival highlights, and behind the scenes moments as they happen.
The move marks a major expansion for Hulu’s long-running partnership with Live Nation. After six years of bringing festival coverage to viewers at home, the addition of Disney+ opens the door for a much larger global audience eager to be part of the excitement in real time.
Lauren Tempest, Head of Content Planning and Partnerships for Direct to Consumer at The Walt Disney Company, shared how live music continues to shape entertainment culture worldwide.
“Music festivals are some of the most exciting moments in entertainment, and now Disney+ and Hulu subscribers across the globe can be part of that energy live,” Tempest said. “As we continue expanding our live programming, we want to bring audiences closer to the biggest cultural events as they happen.”
The announcement highlights the growing demand for live music content beyond physical festival grounds. Fans today are following artists from all over the world, making livestreamed festivals more important than ever.
According to the 2025 Live Nation Living for Live Global Study, 73 percent of fans are listening to more international artists than before, while 85 percent believe live music now goes beyond borders and language barriers.
Kevin Chernett, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Media Partnerships at Live Nation, said livestreaming has completely transformed how audiences connect with festivals.
“Music festivals were once only for the people who could attend in person,” Chernett explained. “Now they have become shared global events that fans everywhere want to watch together in real time. Expanding our partnership with Disney+ and Hulu gives these festivals a massive worldwide stage.”
This year’s Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival will take place from June 12 to 15, while Lollapalooza is scheduled for July 31 through August 3. More livestream details, including schedules and featured performances, are expected to be announced closer to each event.
With Disney+ and Hulu continuing to grow their live programming lineup across music, sports, news, and major cultural events, subscribers can expect even more real time entertainment moments in the months ahead.
