Century Tuna Celebrates Jeno Panganiban’s Historic Mount Everest Ascent

Century Tuna proudly welcomes the return of Jeno Panganiban, mountaineer and Century Tuna Superbods athlete, after his successful climb to the summit of Mount Everest.

As the world’s tallest mountain, Mount Everest presents one of the toughest physical and mental challenges any climber can face. Jeno has now become the youngest male Filipino in nearly 20 years to reach its peak, marking a major milestone in Philippine mountaineering.

This extraordinary feat reflects not just physical endurance, but years of focused preparation and an unwavering commitment to health, nutrition, and discipline. Jeno’s achievement stands as an inspiration to many Filipinos to pursue their own personal summits, whether in fitness, career, or life, with strength and resilience.

According to Jeno, the moment he reached the summit was filled with emotion. “When we were approaching the summit, I felt immense pride. By that point, I knew the entire nation was following our journey. Being able to raise the Philippine flag at the top of the world is something I will never forget.”

Jeno’s transformation from a full-time software engineer to a successful entrepreneur and elite mountaineer has been nothing short of remarkable. Leaving behind his 9-to-5 job, he built a business distributing healthy produce to restaurants across Metro Manila. This shift not only aligned with his passion for a healthier lifestyle, but also allowed him to dedicate more time to training and preparing for his Everest dream.

Climbing Everest was not only about experience; it demanded extreme physical conditioning and disciplined nutrition. Jeno’s training focused on building both physical strength and mental endurance. He dealt with high-altitude sickness, sub-zero temperatures, harsh sun exposure, and the constant threat of avalanches, all while facing the emotional and physical exhaustion that comes with climbing nearly 9,000 meters above sea level.

“You have to be comfortable being uncomfortable,” Jeno shared. “Every day, we made sure our bodies were prepared. I focused on keeping both my mind and body strong for the final push to the top.”

Throughout his journey, Century Tuna played a key role in fueling Jeno’s performance. One of his go-to meals during training and rest periods was a simple but nutritious combination of Century Tuna Hot and Spicy with saltine crackers, an easy, protein-packed dish that helped him stay energized during the most demanding parts of his climb.

Jeno’s success aligns with Century Tuna’s “Fit for Any Role” campaign, which celebrates individuals who take on challenges in their personal and professional lives with strength and resilience. His journey showcases how proper nutrition, focus, and discipline can drive people to achieve even the most ambitious goals.

“Century Tuna is proud to support Jeno’s Everest journey,” said Greg Banzon, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Century Pacific Food, Inc. “He has proven that with the right mindset and proper nourishment, anyone can conquer their own summit. Jeno is an inspiration not just to athletes, but to every Filipino striving to reach their goals.”

Century Tuna continues to challenge Filipinos to define and pursue their personal summits, whether it’s reaching a fitness goal, overcoming a personal challenge, or accomplishing something extraordinary. Being fit with Century Tuna means being ready to rise to any occasion.
