Women Leading Change: PNP Officers’ Ladies Club Rolls Out Nationwide LAB Virus Program

8:52 PM

The Philippine National Police Officers’ Ladies Club (PNPOLC) is proving that it is more than just a traditional social group.

On June 4, 2025, the club partnered with Cardinal Santos Medical Center to lead the simultaneous nationwide LAB Virus Program and Medical Mission, reaching communities across the country.

Originally formed as a support network for the spouses of PNP officers, the PNPOLC has evolved into a dynamic force of empowered women who are actively making a difference in Filipino communities. The LAB Virus Program, short for “Love and Blessing”, is a perfect example of this transformation. The initiative brings critical medical services with a personal, compassionate touch to underserved areas.

“In the past, it was just the Officers' Ladies Club, composed of the wives of PNP officers. But with changing times, we realized the real need is to support our police officers directly,” said Mrs. Mary Rose Marbil, National Adviser of the PNPOLC Foundation. “So, we transformed the club into a foundation, focused on sustainable service and partnerships, like this one with Cardinal Santos Medical Center.”

Mrs. Marbil and her husband, former PNP Chief Rommel Marbil, have championed the nationwide expansion of the initiative.

His dream is my dream too, a strong economy, a peaceful society, and a better police force,” she added.

PNPOLC and Cardinal Santos: A Nationwide Medical Mission

In a historic show of unity and compassion, the PNPOLC mobilized its members across the country to conduct medical missions simultaneously in regional police offices, barangays, and remote areas. Through its partnership with Cardinal Santos Medical Center, the medical mission includes:

  • Free health consultations

  • Basic laboratory services and free circumcision

  • Blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring
  • Flu and pneumonia vaccinations

  • Free medicine distribution and wellness education

This collaboration reflects the group’s ongoing commitment to transform the role of women in the uniformed service community, not just as supporters, but as leaders, organizers, and changemakers.

Mrs. Marbil emphasized the continuity of the project beyond her leadership.

“I created a playbook to serve as a guide. We will support the next adviser, and I’m sure she will bring even more ideas to strengthen the police force.”

A Lasting Impact Through Compassion and Service

By joining forces with one of the country’s top medical institutions, the PNPOLC ensures that quality healthcare reaches even the most remote populations. The initiative sends a strong message: true service goes beyond uniforms, and genuine compassion transcends rank.

This event is not only a public health initiative, but also a testament to the power of organized women in uplifting their communities and supporting the nation’s peacekeepers.
