Grab Empowers Women Through Misiskolar 2025: Supporting Filipina Mompreneurs and Homemakers

Grab Philippines recently concluded its month-long Misiskolar: Siskarte ni Kumare 2025 campaign,

a women empowerment initiative focused on uplifting the lives of female driver-partners and the wives of Grab and MOVE IT driver-partners.

The event series offered valuable training in entrepreneurship, wellness, and self-care, helping women transform their passion projects into profitable, sustainable businesses.

Empowering Women Through Learning and Livelihood

The culminating event, held at SMX Convention Center Aura, welcomed dozens of women from the Grab and MOVE IT communities for a day of inspiration, learning, and sisterhood. Participants joined expert-led workshops focused on building digital-first businesses, gaining skills in marketing, product development, and financial management.

In addition, attendees received free access to TESDA-accredited skills training, enabling them to earn nationally recognized certifications that can be used to start or grow livelihood projects.

Jolina Magdangal Headlines “Diskarte Talks”

Celebrity mom and advocate Jolina Magdangal headlined the event with her “Diskarte Talks,” an empowering session on balancing motherhood, marriage, and entrepreneurship. Her honest conversation struck a chord with many attendees, reinforcing the value of homemakers as income earners and community leaders.

“Many women juggle so many roles, mother, wife, businesswoman, and they do it with so much grace and strength. Misiskolar gives them the tools to thrive in every one of those roles,” said Magdangal.

Self-Care and Mental Wellness for Mom Driver-Partners

In celebration of Mother’s Day 2025, Grab also hosted a special wellness session led by actress and mental health advocate Maxene Magalona. The yoga and meditation event focused on self-love, mindfulness, and mental health—core aspects of holistic empowerment for women in the gig economy.

Grab's Mission: Turning Diskarte into Dignity and Income

According to Ronald Roda, Country Head of Grab Philippines, “Behind every ride and delivery is often a woman who’s not only a homemaker, but a visionary. Misiskolar recognizes these quiet revolutions happening inside Filipino homes, where women turn their diskarte into dignity, income, and impact.”

He added, “We are proud to be a platform that champions not just economic growth, but also gender equality and inclusion in the digital economy.”

Success Story: From Driver-Partner to Entrepreneur

One inspiring story is that of Erlita Lebosada, a GrabCar driver-partner and founder of YLE’S CAR & HOME ESSENTIALS. Fueled by lessons learned through the Misiskolar program, Erlita successfully transitioned into entrepreneurship.

“Dati, akala ko hanggang bahay lang ang kaya ko,” Lebosada shared. “Pero dahil sa MISISKOLAR, natutunan kong may kakayahan din akong magpatakbo ng negosyo. Ang goal ko ngayon ay palaguin ang negosyo at makapagbigay ng kabuhayan sa iba.”

Her message to other women: “Basta may tamang diskarte, huwag matakot magsimula.”
