Local Entrepreneurs and MSMEs Showcase Proudly Filipino Coconut Creations

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in partnership with the Philippine Coconut Authority and SM Supermalls, brought the spotlight to the nation’s beloved coconut industry during the 2025 CoconutPhilippines Trade Fair held from August 28 to September 2 at SM Megamall. This event celebrated one of the country’s most valuable agricultural treasures, the versatile coconut.

More than just a trade fair, this event was a celebration of Filipino innovation, sustainability, and the empowerment of coconut farmers and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Hosted under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan mandated by Republic Act No. 11524, the fair showcased a wide range of coconut-based food, wellness, and lifestyle products made with pride by Filipino hands.

Sustainability and Innovation in Every Coconut Product

From organic health supplements to eco-friendly household essentials, the fair emphasized how the coconut industry is driving sustainable living and green innovation in the Philippines. These coconut products prove that the humble nut is not only a source of livelihood but also a catalyst for positive environmental impact.

Dr. Priscilla Kimes of Kimes Foods from Cebu shared, “With support from DTI and SM, we’re able to reach more Filipino consumers and introduce our patented coconut products to international markets across 11 countries.”

Randy Pineda, President of the Association of Bamboo and Coco Crafts of Tiwi, Albay, added, “Since 2011, DTI has been our steadfast partner. Holding our trade fairs at SM malls always results in strong sales and greater exposure.”

SM Supermalls Champions Filipino MSMEs

As a key partner, SM Supermalls reaffirmed its dedication to uplifting Filipino MSMEs by providing vibrant platforms that showcase local products, foster entrepreneurship, and support economic growth. Steven Tan, President of SM Supermalls, highlighted, “The CoconutPhilippines Trade Fair unites coconut farmers, artisans, and entrepreneurs, strengthening the industry and empowering the communities that drive it. We are proud to support this mission.”

With more than 220 exhibitors from across the country, the 2025 CoconutPhilippines Trade Fair demonstrated the powerful impact of collaboration between government and private sectors in boosting the coconut industry, supporting farmers, and helping MSMEs thrive.
