Empowering Women Beyond Women’s Month: Inside HAVAS Ortega’s HAVASister Program
HAVAS Ortega has taken a bold step toward year-round gender inclusion through its groundbreaking initiative, the HAVASister program.
Launched in time for Women’s Month but designed to create lasting impact, the program embodies the agency’s commitment to empowering women and promoting workplace equality through education, advocacy, and allyship. What is the HAVASister Program?
The HAVASister (Have-A-Sister) initiative is more than just a Women’s Month celebration—it’s a movement aimed at fostering solidarity, inclusivity, and empowerment among employees. The program welcomed participation from both women and men, encouraging male colleagues to serve as allies and advocates in the journey toward gender equity.
Highlights of the HAVASister Empowerment Sessions
The program featured five curated sessions designed to inspire, educate, and support women across various aspects of professional and personal life:
1. Breaking Glass Ceilings: From Telephone Operator to CEO
Kicking off the series, Rosario Cajucom-Bradbury shared her inspiring career journey. From working as a telephone operator to rising through the ranks to become a CEO, her story showcased how resilience, mentorship, and ambition can break industry barriers.
2. Queens of Console: Women in Gaming
In collaboration with Ampverse, a top gaming and esports company, this session spotlighted female gamers and content creators. Through engaging discussions and live gaming challenges, it celebrated women’s growing influence in the digital gaming space.
3. Empowered Wellness: Understanding PCOS and Reproductive Health
Co-hosted with Lockton, this informative session tackled common but often misunderstood reproductive health conditions like PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). Attendees gained valuable insights and wellness resources, empowering them to advocate for their health.
4. Understanding Neurodiversity in Women
Partnering with Graymatters, this talk focused on how neurodiverse conditions—like ADHD and autism, manifest differently in women. It emphasized the need for inclusive workplace environments and better diagnostic awareness.
5. Vaccines for Every Life, for Every Stage of Life
In collaboration with Kindred, a women’s health organization, this final session promoted HPV vaccination and preventive healthcare for all genders and ages. It encouraged informed decisions about long-term wellness.
A Year-Round Commitment to Empowerment
According to Nina Estenzo, Business Director at HAVAS Ortega:
“We launched the HAVASister program with the vision of creating a platform that empowers, educates, and uplifts women, both inside and outside our organization.”
Though the sessions aligned with Women’s Month, the conversations and support structures built through HAVASister are meant to last far beyond a single month. The program aims to integrate gender equity into the core of HAVAS Ortega’s company culture.
Why HAVASister Matters
In today’s evolving workplace landscape, initiatives like HAVASister are essential. They not only raise awareness of women’s issues but also build inclusive communities where diverse voices are heard, valued, and celebrated.
