Sanicare, one of the Philippines’ leading hygiene brands under Sanitary Care Products Asia, Inc. (SCPA), has taken a major step forward in its environmental advocacy by renewing its partnership with the Haribon Foundation.

The official announcement was made during the Seeds of Care event held on May 5 at the Manila Observatory, where both organizations reaffirmed their shared mission: protecting Philippine forests and promoting sustainable living.

Seeds of Care: A Celebration of Long-Term Environmental Commitment

Hosted by Sanicare’s brand ambassador, Bianca Gonzalez-Intal, the “Seeds of Care” event brought together brand representatives, environmental advocates, and media partners to highlight how small, mindful actions can lead to long-term environmental impact.

The symbolic event featured the official contract signing between Sanicare and Haribon Foundation, marking the start of another five-year collaboration aimed at forest restoration and biodiversity conservation.

Sanicare x Haribon: A Decade of Forest Restoration

Sanicare and Haribon Foundation first joined forces in 2014, with a shared vision of rehabilitating forests through community-led reforestation. Over the past decade, their partnership has achieved the following:

  • 14,000+ native trees planted
  • 7+ hectares of forest restored in regions like Mt. Banahaw-San Cristobal and Real, Quezon
  • An impressive 98% seedling survival rate

This ongoing commitment reflects Sanicare’s drive to go beyond corporate social responsibility and make a measurable difference in climate action and biodiversity preservation.

Inspiring Conversations on Practical Sustainability

A highlight of the Seeds of Care program was a heartfelt fireside chat between Bianca Gonzalez-Intal and Haribon’s Erika Bergara, Strategic Partnerships Manager. Erika shared Haribon’s 53-year journey in biodiversity conservation and emphasized the power of “realistic sustainability” — doing what’s possible within your means.

Despite being a small team of only 30 people, Haribon has helped plant over 1 million trees nationwide. Their success shows that individual and collective efforts can scale into transformative environmental change.

Audience members, including Sanicare’s Care Ambassadors, also shared their sustainable habits like using reusable containers and eco-friendly shopping bags, reinforcing the event’s theme of personal accountability.

Hands-On Reforestation: From Talk to Action

To close the event, attendees participated in a seedling potting session, guided by Haribon experts. This activity wasn’t just symbolic — the seedlings will eventually be planted in designated forest areas, giving guests a direct role in restoring nature.

The session embodied the event’s message:

“Plant care, grow change.”

By giving attendees a tangible way to support reforestation, Sanicare and Haribon effectively bridged the gap between environmental advocacy and hands-on action.

A Greener Future, One Tree at a Time

Sanicare’s renewed commitment to environmental protection reflects its belief that corporate brands can be powerful agents of change. Through its long-standing partnership with the Haribon Foundation, Sanicare continues to inspire Filipinos to care for the planet — one tree, one habit, and one seed at a time.
