A new chapter has officially begun for a band that has been quietly shaping its voice for years.

Bricks and Blossom, formerly known as Hey, Leona, steps forward with clarity and purpose through its latest single, “Hindi Na,” now available on all major streaming platforms. More than just a release, the track captures a defining moment in the band’s evolution, one rooted in growth, reinvention, and a deeper connection to their sound.

Formed in 2019, the four-piece group, JB (vocals/rhythm guitars), Lorenz (vocals/lead guitars), Louie (bass), and Lewis (drums), didn’t begin in polished studios or formal rehearsals. Their story started on the streets.

“Our story didn’t start in a rehearsal studio; it started on the pavement,” the band shares. “We were just a group of friends bound together by skateboarding and the raw energy of our hometown.”

Those early jam sessions outside convenience stores and along sidewalks weren’t just fleeting moments, they became the backbone of their identity. Over time, what began as spontaneous music-making grew into something more intentional, especially as they realized their sound resonated with listeners in a meaningful way.

In 2024, the band embraced a major transformation. Rebranding from Hey, Leona to Bricks and Blossom wasn’t simply a name change, it marked a complete reset. With the addition of Louie and Lewis, the group found a stronger sense of cohesion and direction.

“There is a specific beauty in things falling apart; it creates the necessary space for something new to grow… It wasn’t just a marketing pivot—it was a total awakening.”

That awakening is evident in how they now describe their music: gritty, lush, and cinematic. Their songs lean heavily into emotional storytelling, often inspired by personal experiences, while their creative process remains deeply collaborative from raw voice notes to fully realized studio productions.

All of these elements come together in “Hindi Na.”

Though newly released to the public, the song has long been part of the band’s creative history. Instead of leaving it behind, they chose to revisit and reshape it into something that reflects who they are today.

“Like ‘Kase,’ ‘Hindi Na’ is a song with deep roots… It’s a piece of my history that I’d kept tucked away for years, almost like it was waiting for the right time to be heard.”

This reworked version carries more weight both sonically and emotionally. The band traded speed for gravity, crafting a track that feels grounded and intense.

“Sonically, ‘Hindi Na’ is much more about gravity than speed… There’s a specific grit in the drums and a tension in the bass that makes the whole song feel like it has a physical presence.”

At its core, the song speaks about setting boundaries and choosing oneself, a clear shift from vulnerability to strength.

“The inspiration behind the track is that pivotal moment when you finally stop reacting and start deciding… It’s that internal turning point where you realize that choosing yourself isn’t just an option, it’s a necessity.”

The production process also marked a milestone. For the first time, the band recorded live drums in a professional studio, working with Anton Magno at Sunnyside Sound Productions. The experience pushed their sound and their standards further.

“It was an intense, high-stakes process… hearing that raw, live-room energy finally captured on tape made every hurdle worth it.”

With “Hindi Na,” Bricks and Blossom moves forward with confidence. The track stands as both a reflection of their journey and a declaration of who they are now.

“The line ‘Hindi ako takbuhan, sa’yong mga pangangailangan’ is the heart of the track… it’s no longer a plea, it’s a declaration.”

As they continue carving their place in the indie music scene, Bricks and Blossom carries a story shaped by friendship, change, and a commitment to honest expression.

“Hindi Na” is now streaming on all major platforms.
