SM Supermalls is turning up the heat this summer with a dynamic lineup of sports events that bring communities together through competition, movement, and youthful energy.

From fast rallies on the pickleball court to precision-driven frames on the bowling lanes, two major tournaments are set to spotlight athletes of all ages across the country.

This season, SM is rolling out the SM Active Hub Pickleball Trio Challenge alongside the debut of the PBF Youth Cup, giving both seasoned players and rising young talents a chance to step into the spotlight and test their skills in a competitive yet community-driven environment.

Pickleball takes center stage at SM Active Hub

Pickleball continues its rapid rise in popularity, and SM Supermalls is embracing the momentum with the SM Active Hub Pickleball Trio Challenge. Designed to bring together teamwork, inclusivity, and high-energy play, the tournament series transforms SM malls into vibrant sporting arenas.

The competition will run across five qualifying legs before culminating in a final showdown. The schedule includes SM City Bicutan on May 17, SM City Sta. Mesa on May 24, SM City Santa Rosa on June 7, SM City Marikina on June 28, and SM Center Muntinlupa on July 5. The championship round will be held on July 12 at Four E Com Center inside SM Active Hub, which features six dedicated pickleball courts built for fast-paced play.

The tournament welcomes teams under DUPR 9 and DUPR 11 categories, with a unique trio format requiring at least one female player per team. This structure adds depth to strategy while encouraging inclusivity and stronger team coordination on the court.

Registration is set at P5,700 per team, with the event organized in partnership with SM Active Hub, Paloo, Sports Central, Milo, Nature’s Spring, and Picklecrew PH. Together, these partners aim to strengthen community engagement through active sports participation.

Young bowlers step into the spotlight with the PBF Youth Cup

While pickleball heats up the courts, SM Bowling is opening its lanes to the next generation of champions through the Philippine Bowling Federation Youth Cup. This nationwide tournament is dedicated to nurturing young talent and giving aspiring bowlers a platform to grow in confidence and skill.

The competition is divided into two age groups, 16 years old and below, and 17 to 21 years old, with separate male and female divisions. Each participant competes individually, representing their local SM Bowling branch in a structured pathway that builds toward national recognition.

Qualifying rounds are scheduled from April 8 to May 13, 2026. Center champions will then advance to the Center Finals, with the top performers moving on to the National Finals at SM North EDSA on May 31, 2026.

Winners will take home medals, exclusive prizes, and up to six months of free bowling at SM Bowling. Those who achieve a perfect game during the tournament will be rewarded with one full year of free bowling, making excellence on the lanes even more rewarding.

SM Supermalls Senior Assistant Vice President for Sports and Leisure Joseph Francis Silva shared that the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to youth development, saying that SM continues to provide spaces where young athletes can grow, compete, and shape their future in sports.

Building stronger communities through sports

Through these two major tournaments, SM Supermalls is reinforcing its role as more than just a retail destination. It is becoming a hub where communities gather, talents are nurtured, and athletes are given real opportunities to shine.

Whether it is the fast reflexes needed in pickleball or the steady focus required in bowling, both events highlight one common goal: creating spaces where passion meets opportunity and where future champions begin their journey.
