Project Neon Ignites Earth Hour Fun Across SM Malls in East Metro Manila
SM Malls in the East Metro transformed this year’s Earth Hour into an exciting, community-driven celebration with Project Neon, proving that sustainability can be both meaningful and full of life.
Held on March 28, 2026, the initiative, organized in partnership with SM Cares, brought together hundreds of participants who showed up in glowing neon outfits, united by a shared goal of supporting the planet in a fun and engaging way.Across several popular malls east of Metro Manila, the energy was undeniable. At SM City San Mateo, cyclists lit up the streets during the Neon Pedal, a vibrant community ride that encouraged eco-friendly transportation while fostering camaraderie among biking enthusiasts. Meanwhile, SM City Marikina hosted the Neon Run, where participants took on a lively 3KM route filled with color, movement, and purpose.
Fitness lovers at SM City Masinag joined the Neon Move, a high-energy Zumba gathering that turned Earth Hour into a dance-filled celebration of wellness and environmental awareness. Over at SM Center Antipolo Downtown, sports enthusiasts came together for Neon Paddle, where pickleball and badminton matches were played under glowing lights, creating a unique and spirited atmosphere.
Project Neon once again highlighted the power of community action. By blending fitness, fun, and environmental advocacy, SM Malls and SM Cares successfully inspired people of all ages to take part in protecting the planet. The event served as a reminder that even small, collective efforts can create a lasting impact—and that caring for the Earth can shine brightly in every way.
