Starbucks Philippines Calls Filipinos to Lead Change This Global Month of Good
This Global Month of Good, Starbucks Philippines is putting the spotlight on something refreshingly simple: meaningful change doesn’t have to be big to matter.
With the right mindset, anyone can become a Community Champion through small, everyday actions that uplift people, protect the environment, and strengthen local communities. At the heart of this year’s campaign is a powerful message, real impact begins with connection. According to Jamie Silva, senior manager for Marketing, Digital Customer Experience, and Social Impact, Starbucks Philippines continues to build initiatives rooted in collaboration and shared responsibility. From education programs to disaster response and volunteerism, the company’s 2025 efforts show how collective action can leave a lasting mark.
Expanding Community Impact Across the Philippines
Looking ahead to 2026, Starbucks Philippines is stepping up its efforts by expanding partnerships, improving access to essential resources, and opening more opportunities for both employees and customers to get involved.
One major focus is access to clean water. In collaboration with Planet Water Foundation and The Starbucks Foundation, the brand has already reached around 42,400 people nationwide with safe water and hygiene education. This April, a ninth AquaTower will rise in Camarines Sur, bringing clean drinking water to an additional 7,000 individuals.
Education also remains a priority. Through its ongoing partnership with HOPE, Starbucks partners come together each year to build classrooms for underserved communities. This April marks the completion of their sixth public school classroom in Sarangani, giving more students a safe and inspiring place to learn.
Strengthening Sustainability Efforts
Beyond community programs, Starbucks Philippines is also making strides toward sustainability within its operations. A new partnership with MPower will provide electricity to around 60 stores across Metro Manila under the Retail Aggregation Program. This move is expected to improve efficiency while supporting long-term environmental goals.
Volunteerism at the Core
Volunteerism continues to play a key role in Starbucks’ mission. Its Community Stores in Abad Santos, Tondo, and Maysilo Circle are actively supporting education initiatives with partners like AHA Learning Center, Young Focus Foundation, and Mano Amiga Philippines. So far, these efforts have reached more than 1,500 learners through after-school programs, literacy development, and leadership training.
Food security is another area where Starbucks is making a difference. Through its FoodShare program, nearly 3 million surplus food items have been redirected from almost 300 stores nationwide. In partnership with The Philippine Food Bank Foundation and Grab Philippines, these items are distributed to communities that need them most.
Small Actions, Big Impact
Starbucks Philippines is also encouraging customers to take part in simple yet impactful habits during the Global Month of Good. Choosing reusable cups or requesting for-here ware when ordering not only reduces waste but also comes with a PHP 10 discount, a small incentive that supports a bigger cause.
The message is clear: creating change doesn’t require grand gestures. When small actions are multiplied across communities, they can lead to something far more powerful.
This Global Month of Good, Starbucks Philippines invites everyone to step up, take part, and become a Community Champion in their own way.
